Sands through the hourglass...
I love the idea of soap operas being real. Not the drama part...that I the bad part, but all of the other stuff. Nobody is ever overweight and nobody works out EVER! There is always an endless supply of good food and amazing cocktails...regardless of the time of day. Everybody has money, endless support for child care and yet nobody really works. Hearts are broken but will be mended and spirits lifted within the hour. Everybody has an amazing wardrobe, loyal friendships and complete balanced lives. Who doesn't love the idea of that life! So maybe I wouldn't love my mom sleeping with my lover or dodging a hostile encounter in the elevator with my intern...but everything else seems pretty good.

Yeah but, think of all the BAD stuff... lots of amnesia, bad plastic surgery to make you look like someone else, baby mama drama, baby daddy drama, backstabbing, bitching and..and...wait... sounds just like real life. Huh.. go figure.
The great thing about soaps? I only have to watch one episode every 10 years and I'm completely caught up! ha..ha.ha.
I would like just a little bit of the fun, none of the drama and all of the hot men that soaps have....
THAT, my friend, WOULD ROCK MY WORLD ;)
and don't forget the private jets! it would be fun for a few weeks...
The endless money, travel and no work got me.
these are the days of our lives......
Here's my confession, I watch Y&R and DOOL on soapnet every so often. But it's getting (getting, ha!) too incestuous. Nikki, a former topless dancer marries Victor, then she marries Jack then Brad then Victor (maybe some others). Her daughter-in-law has an affair with Brad. Then later marries Jack. So the DIL's son's step-dad was also his dad's stepdad when he was young. Wrap your brain around that one.
Don't judge me. I'm a child of the TV generation.
I'm just going to tell myself that having that life would be really boring.
Right?
Right?
Yeah- I don't believe that either.
