Yesterday I drove my little Fred to the vet trying to convince him that it was for the best, trying to convince him that would be quick. Tonight I drove Fred home apologizing and hoping for forgiveness.
Don't worry. He'll probably forget he ever had them. At least, that's what happenned with my dog, Sam. He did hate the funnel-shaped collar I had on him. And it was so sad. He was totally drugged.
One of my favorite Far Side cartoons features a dog hanging out the window of a car talking to another dog in the driveway... the dog is saying something like:
"And then he's going to take me to the vet to get tutored!"
Gwen's right. Animals (or at least dogs & cats) seem to handle this with relative ease while even the thought of it makes men cross their legs, double over and wince in unthinkable pain.
Fred has recovered and is back to his sassy, wild self. I felt bad until I learned that he might start to spray all over if he weren't fixed! Okay...I still feel a little guilty, but has has forgiven and moved on!

Fred will be fine.

Awww, poor Fred. You know, outside being wobbly from the anesthesia, my two boys never seemed to notice.
Did I ever tell you that, as a child, I named EVERYTHING I owned Fred? Makes me feel a little closer to your boy.
Easy come, easy go, Fred!
Funniest thing my ex step kids ever said when we took the cat to get "fixed" .. "Why? Is he broken?" heh..heh....
Oh, and don't worry. Fred will pee or poop on something of yours and then you'll be okay again. :)
He won't even remember he had them :)
hahaha. Oh, sorry Fred. You've been deballed.
hope fred is feeling better....
Poor Fred!! :(
He'll be alright.
Ouch - poor Fred. He'll make you feel guilty for a while until he wants you to feed him or something. Then all will be forgiven!

They're really just for show anyways.
