Schools back
5:00 a.m.!!! That was the time of my alarm...can you believe it! For the first time in over a month I had to wake up at 5:00 a.m. I spent the entire day in meetings...from 7:30 until 5:30 and have more scheduled for tomorrow. We discussed how to improve test scores, decrease student drop out rates, developing various interventions for students who struggle finding success and so much more. And then there were conversations about our summer break, personal life updates and plans for finding new jobs. There were people who I haven't seen since last years beginning of the year kick-off one year ago. I spent a lot of time thinking how different everything is a year later. But this is my year to make changes...at least professionally. I am hoping for a smooth year and full support to make a change in positions next year. But for now, I am feeling sad that summer break is over and school has returned.

Wow... I can't believe school is back. Good luck this school year and I hope it is wonderful.
Although I work at a school, we don't have a break. The students and faculty do, but not administration. But in some ways it is a vacation since students aren't around and we can get work done we wouldn't normally have the time for with the students stopping by all the time.
BOOOO summer is over...oh wait, I worked all summer anyway. :P Jealous just a little of the teachers (and students) that have summer break.

Already? The hours are much more demanding than most people realize. Everyone thinks you have the same summer off as the kids do. Wrong-o!
Yea!!! Having four kids... I love when school starts!!
You don't know how lucky you are to have a whole summer off. I had my first, 2 week vacation last March, since I graduated from college 17 yrs ago.

I hope your year has gotten off to a good start. Our teachers go back next Monday (the 11th), but of course our administrators have been there all along.
How is the renovation coming now that school is back in?
